Visitors to the Ljubljana Tourist Information Centre can now enjoy a new interactive experience, a digital map of Central Slovenia that takes them on an engaging augmented reality journey through the region. The app is available on a tablet in the TIC, and Ljubljana Tourism will also use this innovative product as a promotional tool at tourism fairs and exchanges at home and abroad.

Together with the Municipality of Ljubljana, the Central Slovenia region is made up of 25 municipalities, and Ljubljana Tourism has digitised 30 of the main tourist spots from all destinations in the region, using 360-degree photos to give visitors a fresh and augmented view of vibrant real-life environments in the region via the AR app. Ljubljana Tourism launched the new digital experience in order to encourage domestic and international visitors to explore Central Slovenia, in line with its strategic and sustainability objectives of dispersing tourist flows beyond the urban core of Ljubljana.

Ljubljana Tourism is a regular participant at global tourism fairs such as WTM London and ITB Berlin, where it showcases innovative solutions for tourism promotion through digital content, and will use its latest product, the AR map of Central Slovenia, to further enhance its presentations.
