Over three days from 25 to 27 September, the spirit of Roman times will once again come alive in Ljubljana's central Kongresni trg square as part of a repeat performance of a living history event in celebration of the 2000th anniversary of the foundation of the Roman city of Emona on the site of the present-day Ljubljana city centre, which was a great success when it was first held last year.

Members of different historical societies will once again come together in the central Kongresni trg square and stage a Roman encampment, a Roman market offering Roman-themed souvenirs, food prepared using ancient recipes, and demonstrations of ancient crafts, gladiator fights, and dance performances by Vestal Virgins. Events and activities will be held from morning to evening and admission to all of them will be free.
