Slovenia, and its Alpine region in particular, boasts a number of excellent ski resorts. Most of the resorts are located quite close to Ljubljana, so skiing day trips from the capital are a great option for those looking for some fun in the snow.

The nearest to Ljubljana is the Krvavec ski resort, boasting 26 kilometres of ski runs. This year, short skiing trips from Ljubljana are being offered by the GoOpti low-cost transfer service. The price of a full-day GoKrvavec package, which stands at less than €35 per person, includes transfer and ski pass. Ski equipment can be hired at the resort at an extra cost.

Another interesting organized winter activity is tobogganing by night. A night ride down a 2.5-kilometre toboggan track is a unique and unforgettable experience. The price of a day trip from Ljubljana stands at €42 per person.

Other popular Slovenian ski resorts easily accessible from Ljubljana include Kranjska Gora, Vogel, Cerkno, and Stari vrh. This winter has been good for skiing and all the above resorts are currently open to skiers.
