Most of the major conferences in Ljubljana usually take place in autumn, but this year three of the largest events already made for a busy August. 40th World Scout Conference, 14th Congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists and 14th International Congress of the European Association for Japanese Studies made it a lively congress month indeed.

At the beginning August Ljubljana was literally overrun by scouts from 130 countries who attended the 40th World Scout Conference - WSC 2014. More than 1,200 delegates of all ages also took part in an accompanying programme consisting of a variety of events in public spaces including presentations of scouting games at the Ljubljana's central Kongresni trg square and a photo exhibition with motifs from the life of Scouts at the Jakopič Promenade in the Tivoli Park.

Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre hosted the 14th Congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists, which took place from 26 to 29 August. The congress was attended by 670 participants who discussed sustainable solutions in agriculture. 14th International Conference of the European Association for Japanese Studies was attended by 850 experts in the field, among them 300 from Japan.

Participants of all three congresses were generally enthusiastic about Ljubljana and Slovenia, the hospitality of the citizens and high professional level of service by various providers participating in the event organization.

Ljubljana's congress calendar will continue to be busy in September and October. The annual travel convention by ABTA, the Association of British Travel Agents, taking place at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre will bring 450 British travel agents to our city.

Ljubljana will also be hosting 600 participants of the Conference of the European Council for High Ability - ECHA, 500 participants of 26 Annual Conference of the European Association of Labour Economists - EALE, 700 participants of Couples for Christ Conference and 600 participants of the conference of the International Federation of Professional Abortion and Contraception Associates.
