Add to MyEvent Add to MyEvent

On the way, along paths crossing meadows and forests above the river canyon, participants visit World War II sites, an abandoned mountain farm, a confluence of two rivers and learn about the way of life as it once was in this area.

Treks will lead you through wild and beautiful areas, which are offered by unspoilt nature of wider range of Iški vintgar. On our way we can see the work made by two rivers, Iška and Zala. In a million years this two rivers have created their way to the swamp Ljubljana Moors (Ljubljansko barje). There are also other very important tributaries of rivers and numerous waterfalls, small cliffs and green refreshing river pools.

The tour will lead us through the legendary World War II sites, which marked these places. We will see the remains of cultural history (mills, sawmills, churches and how people lived in the past), ethnological heritage (cooking homemade brandy and making pork and sausages) and again wonderful work of nature (ravines, caves, rocky hills).

Cooking lunch over an open fire in nature is also possible by agreement.
