Street art in Ljubljana
Take a look around I’ve been living in Ljubljana for my entire life and being a local sometimes means that you either miss or pay absolutely no attention to certain buildings, certain streets or sights. That’s why I love playing a tourist in my own city. It gives me a chance to slow down, look up, look down, or take a different path to my destination. And I love finding all these cool stuff along the way.

K2: FROM VRHNIKA TO PLANINA AND ZAPLANA
Starting point Vrhnika Tourist Information Centre (TIC); free parking spaces are available in front of the TIC along the Tržaška road. Take the Ljubljana city bus (LPP) from Ljubljana to Vrhnika, line no. 47. Tip The K2 route passes by the turn-off for Star maln, where you will find a diner and can refresh yourself in the clear water of the dammed stream in summer.

Not far away is the main tourist area of the village - by the lake, where there is also a hotel, and you can walk to the replica of the famous 64-metre-long mast, which was made by the local furmen at the end of the 19th century for a Slovenian shipowner's sailing ship and transported to Trieste, and go for a hike along the marked Forest and Archaeological Educational Trail Rimski Zid (Roman Wall) at Rakitna.
