In a specially designed aquarium within the cave, you will meet the most famous resident of the Slovenian underworld: the Proteus (Proteus anguinus), also known as the "human fish." Just a stone’s throw away lies Predjama Castle, listed in the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest cave castle. This unconquerable fortress has defied gravity for over 800 years, perched halfway up a 123-meter (400-foot) vertical cliff.

You’ll explore the historic living quarters and the castle armory while uncovering the legend of the rebellious knight Erasmus of Predjama. Often called the "Slovenian Robin Hood," he famously withstood a year-long siege by using a secret network of tunnels that led from the castle to the outside world.
