Ljubljana Tourism has teamed up with local creators to design six new experiences that immerse visitors in the vibrant world of live creativity. In ateliers and studios, guests meet the artists behind unique pieces of clothing, jewellery, porcelain, and comics - and then get creative themselves. At Anselma, they sew their own T-shirt from discarded textiles; at EvilEve, they craft a leather bracelet; with Martina Obid Mlakar, they make a bookmark from recycled metals; at Studio Juha, they create porcelain jewellery; at Studio Draž, they help make shoelaces; and at Stripolis, they join in the process of comic creation. With these new experiences, Ljubljana Tourism expands its collection of unique encounters that allow visitors to engage more deeply with the city, its people, culture, and identity.

Developed in cooperation with local creators and Nea Culpa, a specialized agency for cultural and creative tourism development, these experiences showcase Ljubljana’s lively, high-quality, and diverse creative scene. They complement Ljubljana Tourism’s existing range of experiential activities, such as traditional handicraft workshops with master artisans and creative sessions at Center Rog, Ljubljana’s contemporary creative hub.
Create Your Own Shoelaces at Studio Draž
In the Draž knitting studio, visitors step behind the scenes of two ateliers. In the first, they watch how designer Tomaž Draž creates top-quality knitwear based on the principle “one pixel – one stitch.” In the second, they see how Urša Draž and her team design the brand’s iconic collections. Visitors choose their own thread combinations and design their own unique shoelaces.
Design a Unique Piece with Martina
At the MoM workshop, visitors join jewellery designer Martina Obid Mlakar to make a metal “feather” bookmark, which can also be worn as a pendant. Made from recycled metals, the piece is given new life as visitors learn about the entire creative process—from idea and sketch to basic forging and chasing techniques.
Enchant Your Bracelet at EvilEve
Behind the scenes at EvilEve, designer Eva Breznikar—known for creating one-of-a-kind stage accessories worn by numerous celebrities, including members of Guns N’ Roses—guides visitors as they craft their own leather bracelet. Participants choose materials and design, then proceed through cutting, gluing, painting, punching, and pressing, using more than 40 different tools and materials.
Make Your Own T-Shirt at Anselma
Under the guidance of an Anselma mentor, visitors create a one-of-a-kind T-shirt from discarded textiles—ranging from leftover fabric from sewing studios to forgotten materials from Ljubljana’s grandmothers. After combining colours, patterns, and textures, they sew together their chosen design and leave with a handmade T-shirt, an eco-friendly alternative to fast fashion.
Discover the World of Comics in Izar’s Studio
At Stripolis, comic artist, illustrator, painter, and thinker Izar Lunaček personally welcomes visitors, introducing them to the global and Ljubljana comic scenes while showcasing his work. Guests try out traditional comic-drawing tools, learn about the creative process, and take home a unique comic motif that Izar draws before their eyes.
Create Porcelain Jewellery at Studio Juha
At Studio Juha, guided by artists Bojana Ristevski Mlaker and Miha Pernet, visitors craft unique porcelain jewellery, a magnet, or a miniature piece. Using thin porcelain sheets, they shape, texture, and colour their creations while discovering the fascinating secrets of this ancient material.
Ljubljana’s Unique Experiences
In recent years, Ljubljana Tourism has been systematically developing a range of boutique, content-rich, and authentic experiences aimed at positioning Ljubljana as a destination for discerning visitors who seek more than sightseeing. The offer is built on sustainability, local stories, creativity, and close collaboration with local creators, providers, and communities. The strategic goal is to strengthen Ljubljana’s recognition as a city of authentic experiences—ones that help visitors gain a deeper understanding of its people, culture, and identity. Tourism Ljubljana is developing a comprehensive portfolio of experiences, from culinary walks and art workshops to thematic guided tours and genuine encounters with local masters and creators.
