NovemBeer Gourmet Ljubljana and The Spoonful Trail
The first Ljubljana Beer Trail, NovemBeer Gourmet Ljubljana, featuring craft breweries from Ljubljana, its surroundings, and other Slovenian regions, will take place on Stritarjeva Ulica Street on 15 November. On the same day, the street event "The Spoonful Trail" will be held at Pogačarjev Trg Square, where restaurants from Ljubljana and the surrounding area will serve dishes “by the spoon,” ranging from traditional Ljubljana recipes, homemade soups and stews, to exotic international soups and desserts. Special spoon dishes will also be available throughout the month in numerous restaurants, bistros, pastry shops, and cafés.
Spooning with Chefs
Culinary writer and host Boštjan Napotnik will host five conversational evenings in November, featuring Ljubljana’s top chefs: Jorg Zupan, Igor Jagodic, Jakob Pintar, Mojmir Šiftar, and the Bratovž family. In their restaurants, they will share fascinating stories of their journeys to success, while offering a festival tasting on a spoon. Participants will also have the option to enjoy a full dinner at festival prices after the event.
Charity Cooking Show "Chef Up"
On 27 November, students from the Biotechnical Educational Center Ljubljana will compete in the Chef for Tomorrow cooking show, creating original interpretations of the "Taste Ljubljana" dishes to impress chefs Luka Jezeršek, Mojmir Šiftar, and Igor Jagodic. Event attendees can also participate as judges, tasting a three-course menu with drinks with their ticket. All proceeds will go towards educating young people in hospitality professions.
Culinary Experiences and Workshops
During the festival, visitors can embark on a culinary journey at Ljubljana’s central market “Dobimo se na plac’”, or a Gourmet experience in Ljubljana’s green surroundings, which includes a visit to Sirarstvo Orešnik and the Michelin-starred restaurant Grič. Options also include a Ljubljana Beer Experience or beer tasting on a boat, guided sessions on cocktails and spirits at Broken Bones Distillery, tequila and mezcal tasting at Patrón Tacos & Bar, and specialty coffee tastings at Stow Café.
In Jadro Restaurant, the traditional Tuna Festival will take place, while in Grosuplje’s Vodičar Inn, visitors can enjoy carters’ feasts with a tour of the farm and storytelling from the last carter’s descendant.
For those wanting to enhance cooking skills, workshops and classes will be available at Center Rog, BIC Ljubljana, Chocolarium, and Akademija Jezeršek, covering preparation of desserts, Thai dishes, potica, chocolate, pasta, various meats, and fish.
About November Gourmet Ljubljana
The November Gourmet Ljubljana festival brings together a wide range of culinary content contributed by restaurants, bars, breweries, distilleries, and educational institutions from Ljubljana and its surroundings. With a diverse program, it invites locals as well as domestic and international visitors to explore the city’s gastronomic offerings. The festival promotes culinary knowledge, refines increasingly sophisticated tastes of enthusiasts and connoisseurs, and supports the promotion of hospitality professions among young people. With the festival, Ljubljana Tourism also advances its efforts to de-seasonalize tourism in Ljubljana, as the event takes place during a quieter period in terms of visitor numbers.
A detailed festival program is available on the November Gourmet Ljubljana website, at the Tourist Information Center, Adamič-Lundrovo Nabrežje 2, and on the Gourmet Ljubljana social media channels.
