Šiška Hayday will kick off on September 7 with the traditional Šiška Open festival, a day of urban events in front of Kino Šiška. Throughout the week, graffiti and programming workshops, a culinary event for young people using locally produced and environmentally friendly ingredients, clay crafting, and animation creation will take place. Museums and galleries will offer numerous free guided tours of their collections and exhibitions, including a sound walk through a chestnut alley, a graffiti tour around Šiška, a visit to the renovated Vodnik Homestead and Hotel One66. Visitors can also try retro computer games and pump some action at the Šiška bike park under the spotlight, as well as participate in a community event to improve the area around the Computer Museum. The closing evening will feature a drumming workshop and a screening of short animated films on the square in front of Kino Šiška.

Šiška Hayday is an event initiated by Ljubljana Tourism as part of the project to establish the Šipka cultural quarter. It is based on the diverse programs of cultural institutions and local landmarks in the district, events in green spaces, and, above all, the unique identity of Šiška.

This year’s program involves: Mladi zmaji Šiška, Kino Šiška, Šiška Library, Computer Museum, National Museum of Contemporary History, Studio Biskvit, Hotel One66, Cona, KD Rajd, KUD Ljud, Slovenian Railway Museum, Pekinpah, Gallery P74, Vodnik Homestead, Divja misel Institute, Animateka, and Ljubljana Tourism. The full program of Šiška Hayday is available on the Ljubljana Tourism website.
