Škuc Gallery

The Škuc Gallery, open since 1978, is one of Ljubljana's main centres of alternative culture and contemporary visual art. It has won recognition for collaborating with excellent curators and always keeping pace with modern trends in art.

At the time when Slovenia was still part of the socialist Yugoslavia, the gallery was a place where a number of now renowned ex-Yugoslav artists and art collectives began their careers, some of the best known being the IRWIN and OHO art groups and the artist and architect Marjetica Potrč. Today, the gallery, which has preserved its alternative stance, showcases the work of both renowned international artists and emerging young artists at the beginning of their careers.

The Škuc Gallery operates as part of the Škuc Society, a non-profit cultural organization also involved in publishing, concert promotion, and event management.
