Perched on the picturesque hill of Brdo near Lukovica stands the Slovenian Beekeeping Centre, a hub of modern Slovenian apiculture and home to the native Carniolan honeybee (Apis mellifera carnica). Discover the rich tradition of beekeeping, taste premium honey, and stroll along the herb and beekeeping educational trail, which is also adapted for the visually impaired.

The multimedia presentation offers a journey through the history of Slovenian beekeepers. Both children and adults can marvel at the giant 3D model of a bee – a unique and accurate 1:100 scale replica of a Carniolan worker bee.

The Centre also offers:

  • guided tours and tastings of bee products;
  • educational programmes for schools, families, and groups;
  • conference facilities for events and meetings.

The Beekeeping Centre is an excellent starting point for exploring the natural and cultural beauty of Lukovica.
