Trafika on Vegova Street in Ljubljana, located opposite the National and University Library, is the smallest realized work by the renowned architect Jože Plečnik, covering less than 2 m² of space. For many years, it was abandoned and used as an advertising pillar. However, in 2013, it was renovated, and in 2020, it was transformed into a mini bookstore and street gallery. Today, this small kiosk has become a cultural generator and even internationally recognized public space architecture.
Revived, the Trafika is now a space for exchanging ideas, casual conversations, reading, or resting in a tranquil yet urban atmosphere. It has become a place where spontaneous discussions can happen, articles and books can be discovered by chance, or simply a spot to sit in the shade of tall poplars with a view of Plečnik’s library.
