Trubar’s Homestead is a memorial site dedicated to Primož Trubar, the father of the Slovenian language and the author of the first book written in Slovenian. The homestead consists of a memorial house with a mill, a Venetian sawmill, a farm building and a traditional hayrack (kozolec). A guided tour offers an insight into Trubar’s time and the beginnings of Slovenian written language.

Situated right beside the Rašica stream, Trubar’s Homestead is an ideal place to relax by the water in the shade of alder trees. Throughout the year, the homestead hosts numerous events and intimate boutique concerts. The site is also home to the Skedenj Gallery, which features a variety of exhibitions.

The homestead serves as a starting point for exploring the Velike Lašče region, as it houses the Kozolec Tourist Information Centre (TIC). The hayrack also contains an interpretation centre dedicated to Mišja Valley (Mišja dolina), a unique area preserving natural and cultural heritage. The valley mainly consists of wet meadows and lowland marshes along the Rašica stream and its tributaries. The best way to explore the area is by following the Beautiful Demoiselle thematic trail (Pot modrega bleščavca).
