Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Teddy Abrams, conductor, Yuja Wang, piano
The program spans a wide spectrum of 20th‑century music, from Copland’s Appalachian Spring and Barber’s Piano Concerto to Bach‑inspired transformations and the brilliance of French and Soviet jazz‑infused orchestral writing. Pianist Yuja Wang makes her first appearance at the Ljubljana Festival, bringing her trademark virtuosity, curiosity, and charismatic stage presence. The concert is conducted by Teddy Abrams, music director of the Louisville Orchestra and composer of a Grammy‑winning piano concerto written for Wang.

Goran Bojčevski & Balkan Nuevo
Clarinettist Goran Bojčevski, originally from Macedonia, embarked on his professional musical career at the Ljubljana Academy of Music. He later earned his master's degree in clarinet at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, studying under the esteemed professor Alois Brandhofer.

The second masterclass teachers’ concert sees the return to Ljubljana of another group of musicians and teachers from some of the most important music education institutions in Europe. Oboist Emanuel Abbühl is an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Music in London and a professor at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts and the Hochschule für Musik Basel.
