Dragon Carnival in the streets of Ljubljana
The Dragon carnival traditionally held in Ljubljana consists of a large Shrovetide carnival parade through the city's streets and a programme of entertainment held in the centrally located Kongresni trg square. The carnival parade includes, among others, a number of typical Slovenian carnival figures rooted in pagan tradition, such as 'kurent', 'laufar', 'morostar' and several others.

A lively summer of congresses in Ljubljana
The annual travel convention by ABTA, the Association of British Travel Agents, taking place at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre will bring 450 British travel agents to our city. Ljubljana will also be hosting 600 participants of the Conference of the European Council for High Ability - ECHA, 500 participants of 26 Annual Conference of the European Association of Labour Economists - EALE, 700 participants of Couples for Christ Conference and 600 participants of the conference of the International Federation of Professional Abortion and Contraception Associates.

2018 will be a record congress year for Ljubljana
A particularly active year is ahead of the two biggest convention centres in the city, Cankarjev dom – CD Congress Centre and GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. Together they will host over 35 international congresses, with two expecting over 2,000 attendees.

The attractive Ljubljana Rose collection Ljubljana is the proud owner of its own rose variety bearing its name. These white roses, specially bred for our city by a renowned European rose breeder, are planted in parks and other public areas. Ljubljana Tourism has produced a collection of souvenirs for all rose lovers that includes mugs, make-up bags and tablet cases (the latter two items made from natural felt).
