Awards for sustainable Ljubljana
In 2020, Lonely Planet, the world’s largest travel guide publisher, ranked Ljubljana among the eight most sustainable cities in the world. As part of the European Capital of Smart Tourism selection, Ljubljana also received an award in the field of digitalisation.

Castle hill and Šance
The top of the hill is accessible by footpaths leading from all directions, the most popular being those starting from the historical city centre. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the top. At the top of the castle hill there are scenic tree-lined walks and lookout points offering stunning views across the entire cityscape and the Kamnik Alps to the north.
