Finally, a personal suggestion from me: if you can, combine your visit with lunch in one of my favourite restaurants, the nearby Restaurant Skaručna, in the village of the same name. Visit lovely Bogenšperk castle and meet Valvasor the Great

Komenda
It was the site of a Roman staging post, a Slavic settlement and - between 1223 and 1892 - a commandery of the Order of Malta. One of its most important historical figures was Peter Pavel Glavar (1721-1784), renowned as a priest, economist and patron of art who encouraged the development of Komenda and left all his possessions to the town's residents.
