New projects: Gallery and special event venue 'Cukrarna'
New beginnings - gallery and special event venue In late 2018, the Municipality of Ljubljana started, with financial support of the Slovenian Government and European Regional Developmental Fund, and in coperation with the Museums and Galleries of Ljubljana, the first real renovation of the building. With the revamping of this massive empty industrial building that will provide an eclectic space for standing receptions for up to 1,000 delegates, the city will get a new special venue and a gallery of over 2,500 square metres.

GAMIFIED TOUR OF PLEČNIK’S UNREALISED VISIONS
© Turizem Ljubljana The gamified experience “Plečnik’s visions" is the first in a series of new experiences being developed this year by Ljubljana Tourism together with its partners, and it is aimed at modern tourists who are seeking authentic experiences. In cooperation with the City Museum of Ljubljana and the France Stele Art History Institute of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, we devised a new gamified guided tour of unrealised projects designed by the great architect Jože Plečnik, which would have left a major impact on the present-day appearance of Ljubljana.

Ljubljana's Art Nouveau Year
The first two of them – Art Nouveau Ljubljana and the Architect Maks Fabiani, set up at the Tivoli Park's outdoor gallery, and the National Museum exhibition The Nature of Art Nouveau – are already open for viewing. Maks Fabiani, the creator of the architectural concept for Art Nouveau Ljubljana Following the devastating Ljubljana earthquake of 1895, Art Nouveau, so to speak, regenerated the city.

Installation WOW for Ljubljana in front of the EU pavillion at EXPO Milano 2015
The unique interactive installation WOW for Ljubljana, created by Ljubljana Tourism in collaboration with Vodovod-kanalizacija public company and City Museum of Ljubljana, was placed in front of the European Union pavillion at EXPO Milano 2015 on Friday 3 July. © D. Wedam The installation was created for the purposes of presentation of Ljubljana and Central Slovenia region at the Slovenian Pavillion at EXPO Milano 2015 between 15 and 30 June.
