Ljubljana Chess Festival

This year's festival is expected to feature up to 200 chess players of all ages from different parts of the world and will be available for live streaming over the internet.

It represents an upgrade from the current one-day Ljubljana Chess Festival, which has been well received locally and in some neighboring countries, and a revival of the once traditional Ljubljana Open tournament in standard chess. The organizers' intention was to hold such a festival in 2020, but unfortunately, it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the course of eight days, many accompanying events will take place, available to visitors and especially young chess players: blitz and rapid chess tournaments, chess seminars, workshops for children, the Children's Dragon Tournament, and a simultaneous chess exhibition with a grandmaster.
