Sauvignon is an aristocrat among wines, a cosmopolitan that faithfully reflects its place and time, a perfectionist striving for excellence and breadth. Wine connoisseurs from around the world simply adore it for these qualities.
The Sauvignon-growing region, stretching across Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia, ranks among the very best in the world. For the twelfth year, Salon Sauvignon is set within the Dominican Monastery in Ptuj, the oldest town in Slovenia. This festival of wine and art brings together the finest Sauvignon-growing regions of the three countries and beyond. Winemakers also present other grape varieties – the finest labels from their cellars.
Following the April event in Ptuj, the best Sauvignon producers will be presented for the first time in late May in the heart of the Slovenian capital, at the beautiful Plečnik’s Križanke. The pairing of Sauvignon wines with food will be curated by Janez Bratovž (JB Restaurant), a legend of modern Slovenian gastronomy.
The festival will be crowned by a concert from the exceptional accordionist Marko Hatlak.
