Sir John Eliot Gardiner, one of the leading figures of historically informed performance, appears in Slovenia for the first time with his new ensemble The Constellation, founded in 2024. The program features Brahms’s Song of Destiny, a triptych that powerfully contrasts the timeless realm of the gods with the fragility of human existence. The work concludes with an orchestral postlude in radiant C major, offering a consoling epilogue and revealing Brahms in a mature, unmistakably personal musical voice.
