An old Slovenian pop song says that white Ljubljana never sleeps, and that’s especially true in the summertime! Bars, pubs, restaurants, and other culinary spots across the capital don’t just serve refreshing drinks and tasty food - they also offer plenty of fun activities that make summer in Ljubljana even more vibrant. As befits the season, our beautiful city comes alive with cheerful, carefree energy. So, let’s take a look at where and when to go for a great evening out before summer comes to an end.

If you're someone who enjoys pairing good food and drinks with great music, be sure to check out the concert lineup at Prulček. Recently revamped, this popular venue now combines quality live music with an impressive culinary offering influenced by Japanese, French, and Italian traditions.
Looking for lively beats, a playful atmosphere, tasty bites, and a chance to cool your feet on a hot summer day? Head to the Lavor Party at Dobra Vila Pizzeria on a summer Thursday. Fedr and his crew welcome you each week with their signature slogan: “If you’re not at the seaside, at least dip your toes in a washtub!”
In the mood for a picnic but don’t have a grill or garden of your own? No problem! Every Wednesday, Lana’s Corner hosts the After Work Picnic in their garden – a relaxed gathering with grilled treats and cold drinks. Be sure to follow their events on other days too – they often organize live music evenings, wine tastings with local winemakers, and other exciting happenings.
Kletvica Wine Bar continues its popular Wednesday Terrace Sessions throughout the summer, where you can enjoy a glass (or two) of top-quality natural wine alongside the juicy Meat Business burger. A special treat awaits on Friday, August 1st, when they host Magula, a Slovak biodynamic winery. Winemaker Vlad Magula himself will be there to present their wines and share stories from their vineyard, paired with selected snacks.
Can’t make it on Wednesdays? No worries – the Meat Business burger also pops up on Tuesdays at England Pub’s terrace, where you can enjoy lively rhythms, friendly chats, and cold beer. Mark your calendars for July 29th, and August 19th & 26th.
Of course, Fridays in Ljubljana are all about exploring new flavors at Odprta Kuhna (Open Kitchen). And when the food stalls close for the day, the party moves to AFTR, where you’ll find tasty snacks, energizing drinks, and vibrant DJ sets to keep the night going.
For those who enjoy putting their knowledge to the test, join the Pub Quiz every other Friday at Projekt Pub on Trubarjeva Street. Since its launch in June, it’s become a hit among beer-loving brainiacs. NEKS Café is also joining the quiz craze – they’re hosting a Pub Quiz on Wednesday, July 30th, and a special Paint & Sip evening on Thursday, August 7th, where you can create your own masterpiece while enjoying a tasting of Karst wines, cured meats, and cheeses.
After two successful events in June and July, JB Restaurant is bringing back Četrtkanje in August – a relaxed Thursday afternoon-to-evening hangout on their terrace with great food, drinks, and even better company. For program updates and sign-up details, follow them on Instagram.
