Historical City Centre and Ljubljana Castle

Our journey begins in Mestni trg (Town Square), one of the most beautiful Baroque ambiances in Central Europe. Admire the Town Hall (Rotovž) and stop by the famous Robba's Fountain, a work by master Francesco Robba. This square was the center of the city in the Middle Ages, and today it will enchant you with its captivating architecture.

We continue across the Tromostovje (Triple Bridge). The Triple Bridge is the heart of Ljubljana by Plečnik – a simple yet brilliant way how the city transformed a narrow river obstacle into a central, vibrant space.

Immediately after crossing Plečnik's masterpiece, we encounter Prešernov trg (Prešeren Square), where architecture meets supreme poetry. The central figure, France Prešeren, is positioned in a way that he "tells a story" with his gaze. The square is surrounded by architectural diversity. On one side, the refined Franciscan Church of the Annunciation rises, while on the other, Art Nouveau and other bourgeois palaces line up.

Next is a tour of the Central Market. This is not just shopping; it's an experience. Here you will find Slovenian tastes and aromas. Fresh produce, local delicacies, a vibrancy you won't find anywhere else.

We proceed to the inevitable visit to the Zmajski most (Dragon Bridge). The dragon is not just the symbol of Ljubljana; this bridge is an important technical achievement from the turn of the century – one of the first major reinforced concrete bridges. The four sculptures serve as a reminder of the myth and power the city guards.

Our tour culminates at the top of Ljubljana Castle. From the Dragon Bridge, you take the funicular up to this mighty medieval fortress that has guarded the city for over 900 years. Enjoy the view over Ljubljana and even the Alps in the distance. The castle also offers interesting permanent and temporary exhibitions.
