Accessible Ljubljana

Ensuring that the city is accessible to everyone, especially people with disabilities, is a key focus of the City of Ljubljana’s development policies. Since 2007, the Council for the Removal of Architectural and Communication Barriers has been working to create an inclusive and accessible urban environment for all.
Making tourism infrastructure universally accessible is also a cornerstone of Ljubljana’s sustainable, smart, and inclusive tourism strategy. Since 2022, Tourism Ljubljana, in partnership with Brez ovir Institute, has been working to improve accessibility across the city and the Central Slovenia region. Experts have assessed accessibility in tourism, hospitality, and cultural venues, offering concrete recommendations for improvement.
Our website features a simple filtering tool, allowing visitors to easily find points of interest that are suitable for mobility-impaired, blind and visually impaired, as well as deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
A City That Welcomes Diversity
Ljubljana also has a long-standing tradition of supporting the LGBTQI+ community. Numerous NGOs are active in the city, organising events and advocating for LGBTQI+ rights. Notable events include the International Feminist and Queer Festival Red Dawns, the annual Ljubljana Pride Parade and the LGBT Film Festival, which is the oldest of its kind in Europe.
Ljubljana offers a broad range of accessible and inclusive experiences—we strive to make the capital an easy, welcoming, and enjoyable destination for every visitor.
