The Cankarjev dom Congress Centre is located in the very heart of the city, within walking distance of numerous hotels and the charming old town. It features 22 multipurpose halls and function rooms, with plenary capacity for up to 2,000 delegates. As the largest purpose-built congress centre in Slovenia, it offers auditorium-style seating throughout.

Cankarjev dom (CD) is a well-established venue on the international conference market. Its thoughtfully designed interiors meet contemporary functional and aesthetic standards, while its halls are renowned for their outstanding acoustics. The venue is continuously upgraded and refurbished: the First and Second Foyers have been transformed into sophisticated reception areas, and the renovated Club CD on the upper floor offers stunning views of the city. Among the most notable recent upgrades is the Grand Reception Hall, considered one of the finest gala event spaces in Central Europe. The most recent renovation included a complete refurbishment of the largest hall – Gallus Hall – featuring brand-new seating, as well as a full renovation of the second-largest hall, Linhart Hall. With a total surface area of 36,000 square metres, the venue can accommodate up to 5,000 visitors at a time and provides extensive exhibition space.

 

In line with its green policies, Cankarjev dom has implemented energy-saving measures and introduced new environmentally friendly technologies and materials. To contribute to biodiversity in Ljubljana, beehives have been installed on the roof of the building. Approximately 150,000 Carniolan honey bees pollinate the city’s plants and produce honey as a unique new product of CD.
