Ljubljana listed among the top 25 small cities in the world
© Blaž Pogačnik Ljubljana earned its place on the Small Cities Index thanks to urban greenery, a pedestrianised centre that blends medieval and baroque architecture, plenty of cycling lanes and many initiatives to improve quality of life. Monocle describes the Slovenian capital as 'one of Europe's most interesting small capitals'. Due to the unpredictable situation in 2020, trends are leaning towards theincreasing popularity of smaller cities.

Rožnik hill
A Cankar monument sculpted by Frančišek Smerdu was erected on the hilltop, which was named Cankarjev vrh in the writer's honour. The most interesting in the hill's network of criss-crossing footpaths is the about 3-kilometre-long Jesenko Trail (Jesenkova pot), named after the botanist and geneticist Fran Jesenko (1875-1932).

Visitors to the museum can also acquaint themselves with the most prominent figures in the world of theatre. The museum's collections feature photographs, theatre programmes, posters, letters, manuscripts, books, periodicals, newspaper clippings, audio and video footage, set design and costume sketches, and (to a lesser extent) costumes, set design models, and other objects related to theatre.
