Emona's Legacy in Modern Ljubljana The City Museum of Ljubljana offers individual visits and guided tours of Arheopark Emona, an urban archaeological park featuring ten heritage sites. Highlights include the Early Christian Centre with a baptistery and mosaics, as well as the Roman Wall at Mirje, which was restored in the 1930s following the plans of architect Jože Plečnik.

The vista stretches from the Kamnško-Savinjske Alps, to the Karavanke Alps and Triglav’s Julian Alps, to thenearby valley of Tuhinjska dolina and the hilly world on the outskirts of Ljubljana, as well as the nearby towns on the plain and Ljubljana itself. Interpretive boards will tell you what you are looking at. The tour starts in the old town of Kamnik, in front of the Tourist Information Centre (TIC). It takes you across the main road through the town and soon starts climbing.
