Launch of the Ljubljana Strategic Bidding Team
The aim of this initiative is to secure more international scientific congresses, primarily with 500+ delegates, for the Slovenian capital. We are happy to announce that the certification process is already underway at the following properties: Hotel Park, Radisson Blu Plaza hotel Ljubljana, Best Western Premier Hotel Slon, City Hotel Ljubljana Union Hotels Group (4 hotels) Hostel Celica 2016 will be the year when Ljubljana will have eight Travelife certified hotels and one hostel.

Ljubljana won the Golden Apple Award 2016 by FIJET
Since 1970, when it was established, FIJET has presented the Golden Apple award to 47 organizations, countries, cities, companies or individuals. In Slovenia, this award was so far won by Walks of Peace in the Soča Region Foundation in 2012 and by Postojna Caves in 2014.

Slovenia will be awarded the title European Region of Gastronomy 2021
In Ljubljana, the expert commission visited the Dobrote Dolenjske shop, the Open Kitchen at the Central market and the chef Igor Jagodic at the Strelec Restaurant. In the city's surrounding area of Central Slovenia, they got acquainted with the work of chefs Luka Jezeršek at Dvor Jezeršek 1768 and Luka Košir at Gostišče Grič.
