Why I Love Ljubljana
With no parents around I could do whatever I wanted and didn’t have to explain it to anyone. Coming from a small town I was in awe of what a city can offer. This was a time of figuring out the city’s efficient transportation system and finding the fastest way to Uni. Where will number 6 get me or 8?

The Path of Remembrance and Comradeship
The Liberation Army marched into Ljubljana on 9 May 1945, after the city had been enclosed by barbed wire for 1,170 days. The construction of the Path of Remembrance and Comradeship began soon after the war and was completed in 1985.

Early Christian Centre

A later centre of Christian life in Emona developed along the city’s western wall, parts of which are still preserved on Erjavčeva Street, next to Cankarjev dom.

Roman Wall at Mirje

According to an inscription found near Emona's eastern gate (at present-day French Revolution Square), a major construction project—likely the city wall—was completed between the autumn of 14 AD and the spring of 15 AD.

Polževo (630 m)
After leaving the church, return to the top of the ski slope and continue straight on into the forest following the narrow path (on your left when facing the hotel). Cross the small meadow in the middle of the forest and then pass under the trees again and follow the comfortable track (keeping to the right all the time) to Nova Vas.

Kinodvor
More than just a cinema theatre, Kinodvor is part of a national and global dialogue around cinema culture. Kinodvor and The City of Ljubljana are collaborating on an exciting new venue envisioned for the Ajdovščina underpass in Ljubljana’s city centre. The miniplex will hold one big and three smaller screening halls, and constitute a cultural hub to work in tandem with 13 Kolodvorska to provide a home for the city’s flourishing cinema culture, with an emphasis on attracting new, young audiences.
