Cellofest Ljubljana 2026

The festival brings together leading Slovenian and international cellists and features a varied programme of nine concerts, three masterclasses with renowned cello professors from abroad, and a traditional three-day workshop for 100 of the youngest cellists from across Slovenia.

The cello will be presented in a wide range of musical settings – as a solo instrument, accompanied by an orchestra or piano, as part of an ensemble, and in innovative interpretations within popular and alternative music. This year's festival features renowned international cellists Marc Coppey, Natalie Clein, Peter Gregson and Jeremias Fliedl, alongside leading Slovenian cellists.

Education and collaborative music-making are an important part of the festival, which brings together established musicians and younger generations and encourages the exchange of knowledge, experience and musical creativity.
