The first concert in the two-part Early Romanticism for Cello and Piano series features works by three of the central composers of the 19th century: Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Robert Schumann and Frédéric Chopin.
The programme explores the richness of the Romantic musical language, in which the cello and piano emerge as equal partners, their dialogue ranging from intimate lyricism and expressive melodies to virtuosic passages and dramatic intensity.
