King Matjaž is a musical performance featuring three soloists, a children’s choir, piano, and historical instruments. The story, based on several combined versions of the legend, follows King Matjaž, Alenčica, and the Turks.

Children will have the opportunity to explore lesser-known traditional folk instruments, including bagpipes, oprekelj, various flutes, drums, and more. By blending elements from different folk traditions, the performance brings a modern and playful interpretation of the King Matjaž legend to life.

The bold and lively melodies will transport the audience to the time beneath Mount Peca, where King Matjaž sleeps.
