You are invited to the Parterre Gallery for the opening of 𝘌𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘬, an exhibition by Slovenian intermedia artist Špela Petrič.

In the artistic research project 𝘌𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘬, Špela Petrič examines the high-tech cultivation of tomatoes and cucumbers to explore how algorithmic infrastructures shape our bodies.

Drawing on her interventions in industrial greenhouses in the Netherlands, the exhibition reveals the often invisible processes of digitalisation, automation and surveillance that increasingly define contemporary food production.

The exhibition has been conceived as an environment that confronts visitors with the invisible and overlooked aspects of vegetable production.

Špela Petrič is a Slovenian intermedia artist and former scientific researcher with a PhD in biology, currently based between Ljubljana and Amsterdam. Her artistic practice brings together biology, technology and ecology, exploring the relationships between living systems and contemporary technologies.
