Picnic among the Castle Grapevines

Surrounded by more than a thousand grapevines, this peaceful green retreat offers a unique culinary and wine experience—far removed from the city's hustle and bustle. As you make your way to and from the vineyard, you’ll uncover fascinating stories from the castle’s rich history and learn about the legacy of Slovenia’s greatest architect, Jože Plečnik.

The guided tour starts at the bridge in front of the castle entrance. After an introductory greeting and a short presentation, the castle guide will lead you through the castle’s tree-lined avenue to Šance, a structure designed by Jože Plečnik.
