Plečnik & A-Cappella 2026

The concert cycle PLEČNIK & A-CAPPELLA, which has been presented six times from 2020 to 2025 with great success, brings together music and architecture. More specifically, it brings together vocal music and architecture of the great Plečnik, whose works were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2021.

Each year from June to October (once per month), you can listen to five renowned vocal ensembles and choirs at five of Plečnik's most picturesque locations in Ljubljana.

Through the dialogue between Plečnik's architecture and vocal masterpieces, they aim to enrich the listeners' experience of music and provide them with a true artistic experience for both the eye and ear.

The concert series, which has already been successfully presented several times, brings together music and architecture – more specifically, vocal music and the architecture of Jože Plečnik, whose selected works in Ljubljana were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2021.

Through a dialogue between Plečnik’s architecture and exceptional vocal performances, the series aims to enrich the audience’s experience of music and create a unique artistic experience for both the eyes and the ears.

This year’s venues will include:

• Church of St Francis of Assisi in Šiška,
• Church of St Joseph (Poljane),
• Pavilion at Congress Square,
• Great Reading Room of the National and University Library (NUK),
• Church of Sts Cyril and Methodius in Bežigrad.

The series will feature five outstanding vocal ensembles:

• Academic Choir of Maribor,
• Vocal Ensemble HALS,
• Ave Chamber Choir,
• St Nicholas Choir Litija.
