September on Poljanska Street brings a whole new vibe. The road shuts down to traffic, and shops and cafés take over the pavement with colorful stalls and tasty treats, turning the street into a buzzing urban festival—that’s the signature event of the creative Poljane district.

During the day, kids get hands-on in creative workshops while adults dive into smart conversations like the “Philosophical Armchair.” As the sun sets, the street transforms into an open-air stage, with music floating through the air from local artists—everyone from Jana Šušteršič to Klemen Slakonja and others.

This year's programme:

  • 10:00 – Road closure and festival opening
  • 10:00–14:00 – Children’s lampshade-making workshops by Creative Cables
  • 12:00 – Comic book drawing and reading in front of the Stripolis comic shop
  • 15:00 – Journalist Patricija Maličev and architect Danica Sretenović on Belgrade’s student protests and the urban vision of Ljubljana
  • 16:30 – Concert by the Poljane High School house band (last year they absolutely rocked the stage!)
  • 18:00 – Journalist Patricija Maličev and reporter Boštjan Videmšek on Palestine and Gaza, Israel, and everything the EU and the rest of the world are failing to do to stop the genocide
  • 19:00 – Final Philosophical Bench with Bara Kolenc, Boštjan Narat, Gregor Medved, Matjaž Ličer and Izar Lunaček debating life, the universe, and everything
  • 20:00 – Illustrated concert by Boštjan Narat and Izar Lunaček (Narat plays and sings his own songs, Lunaček draws live)
  • 21:00 – Janez Škof on accordion, with a song on his lips

Refreshments provided by Pekarna Malo drugače and Pekarna Brot.
