Poljanska cesta from Resljeva cesta to Ulica Janeza Pavla II

September on Poljanska Street brings a whole new vibe. The road shuts down to traffic, and shops and cafés take over the pavement with colorful stalls and tasty treats, turning the street into a buzzing urban festival—that’s the signature event of the creative Poljane district.

During the day, the programme features children’s workshops and talks for adults, including the Philosophical Armchair. In the evening, the neighbourhood comes alive with concerts by musicians who live in the nearby apartment blocks and houses, from Teja Saksida to Jana Šušteršič and others.

This year’s programme:

10:00: Breakfast by the Malo drugače and Brot bakeries, Turkish restaurant Lokanda, and Eggs and Tales, officially Ljubljana’s best brunch spot. Music by DJ Zvuk. Comic book reading for children by Izar Lunaček.
12:30: Street performance by Počeni škafi.
15:00: Lunch, with music by DJ Zvuk.
16:00: Live interviews with Sobotna priloga journalist Patricija Maličev.
17:00: Final philosophical gathering with all participants, featuring conversations with the audience about life, the universe and everything.
19:00: Teja Saksida and her ensemble perform jazz standards in her own translations.
20:00: Blues and soul with Jana Šušteršič and saxophone.
21:00: Počeni škafi bring swing to the main stage.
22:00: End of the event and reopening of the road to traffic.
