Prešeren Day at Ljubljana Castle

On 8 February, Ljubljana Castle will host free guided tours, access to exhibitions and other activities.

On February 8, the day commemorating the poet France Prešeren, Ljubljana Castle will host a rich cultural program. Castle guides will share stories woven through the centuries, and visitors can enjoy free guided tours as well as explore the permanent exhibitions: Slovenian History, Castle Armory, and the Museum of Puppetry. Guests can also climb the Viewing Tower, watch a 4D animated film in the Virtual Castle, and experience a new spatial projection When Illustrations Come Alive in the castle Casemates.

Young visitors will be delighted by the mascot Friderik, who will greet them before each children’s guided tour.

Guided tour program:

  • 10:00–11:00: Stroll Through Fairy Tales (children 5+) + spatial projection of Slovenian illustrations
  • 11:00–12:00: Time Machine (adults, SL/ENG)
  • 12:00–13:00: Escape of Knight Erasmus (children 6+)
  • 13:00–14:00: Time Machine (adults, SL/ENG)
  • 14:00–15:00: Stroll Through Fairy Tales (children 5+) + spatial projection
  • 15:00–16:00: Around Ljubljana Castle (adults)

Remark

The event is free of charge; however, due to limited availability, registration is required here. Registration opens on February 2.

Meeting point: the bridge in front of the main entrance

Tour duration: 60 minutes

Language: all tours are conducted in Slovenian; Time Machine is also available in English
