The play is based on a collection of Bosnian, Croatian, Macedonian, Slovenian and Serbian folk tales of the same name, which focuses on girls and their survival strategies.

The magical tales included in the collection depict a mysterious and often dangerous world where girls can only rely on their wits, ingenuity and brave hearts, and now and then a kind old woman who comes their way.

Špela Frlic’s storytelling is skilfully interwoven with the music of the duo All Strings Detached. The performance takes as its central thread the themes of equal love, promises made and broken, and the (in)ability to reach a happy ending.

The show premiered at the Storytelling Festival 2024 and has since been performed multiple times across Slovenia.
