© Archive of Ljubljana Tourism
It’s time for people to learn skills that will connect them more closely with nature. Venture into the Temple of Lintvern the Dragon, nestled in the shelter of the steep gorge of the Bela Stream above Stari Maln in Vrhnika. On this lively family adventure, you’ll uncover the mystery of the Dragon Temple and join the dragon order of water tamers!
Dragons have lived in the Temple of Lintvern the Dragon since time immemorial, guardians of the local “white water” – a miraculous spring that originates within the temple, then bursts through the rocks and flows down into the valley.
You’ll embark on an important quest in this ancient world of dragons and the untameable power of nature, collecting stamps while learning the skills and secrets of the water tamers. Upon successfully completing your training, you’ll earn the Dragon Stamp and become a member of the Dragon Order of Water Tamers.
The Temple of Lintvern the Dragon is a fun family adventure (recommended for children aged six and older), but suitable only for those accustomed to safe walking on more challenging forest and mountain trails. Good hiking shoes are mandatory to enter the Order of the Dragon, as the last kilometre of the path – the total length of trail is 4.5 kilometres in one direction – is steep in places and sometimes slippery.
A key part of the experience is the Dragon Booklet, which you can purchase at the start of the adventure. There is also a picture book titled Lintvern the Dragon and the Water Tamers available.
