The Flax Scutching and Spinning Festival & the Festival of Flavours
This event revives the memory of an ancient craft that is still preserved in parts of Slovenia, while offering a variety of typical tastes from the Ljubljana hinterland. In the municipality of Škofljica, flax spinning and scutching have a rich history and tradition. In the past, these practices played a significant role, as they allowed for the production of flax threads, which were the basic material for making various clothing items, textiles, and other useful products.

The Beautiful Demoiselle Trail (Pot modrega bleščavca), Mišja Dolina Valley Mišja dolina © Metka Starič A Pleasant Walk Across a Marshy Valley Mišja dolina is a large marshy valley located in the Ljubljana hinterland. It’s one of Slovenia’s ecologically important areas and part of the European Natura 2000 network. The valley features especially diverse wetland habitats, home to numerous plant and animal species – including the beautiful demoiselle, after which the themed trail is named.
