Ljubljana receives two awards from the Tourism association of Slovenia
The renovation encompassed the rearrangement of the municipal infrastructure, traffic system and public surfaces, which now have a full range of amenities suitable for pedestrians, cyclists and the needs of public and urgent transport. A considerable area is dedicated to the open-air restaurants and bars, and the existing bars and shops continue to operate; commendably, some of the traditional ones have remained, including the first coffee shop in Ljubljana.

Jumpin' Jumpin' at WOOP! Ljubljana Trampolin Park
It’s located in the BTC City Ljubljana, one of the largest shopping centres in Europe, more aptly described as a city within a city. Aside from a variety of shops, it has lots of restaurants, cafes, cinemas, a water park, etc… Woop stands just opposite the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Ljubljana. You can reach it: • by car: they have a huge parking lot next to it. • By bus: take number 7 or 27.

Lake Zbilje: where Tchaikovsky and the good old days meet
Obviously, since I was sitting in a wooden boat just a couple of days ago trying to find out the most efficient way to paddle … We rented a boat in the village of Zbilje near Ljubljana, a popular spot for the sunny afternoons and weekends with its natural beauty, cafés and restaurants, the children's playground and a nice path for strolling along the lake. An artificial Lake Zbilje was created in 1953, when the Sava river was dammed to provide water for the hydroelectric power station in the nearby town of Medvode.

Hiking trio close to Ljubljana: Katarina, St. Jakob, Grmada
It was a sort of trail-running end of my trip, pushing it to a laudable pace as my mouth watered excessively by a mere thought of the best restaurant in Topol (just under the Katarina peak), Gostilna Dobnikar, and their tasty traditional dishes. All I can say is that was a perfect ending to a perfect trip.

Šmarna Gora – Combination: Route via Spodnja Kuhinja + Path of Freedom + Ascent from the Turk’s Shrine
The summit of Šmarna Gora offers wonderful views and also a traditional restaurant or gostilna with excellent Slovene cooking. This is certainly one place that is well worth the climb! Around a dozen routes lead to the summit of Šmarna Gora from various starting points.
