11th Snowdrop festival: welcoming spring within the LUV fest

Event as part of LUV Fest

  • 27 Feb - 1 Mar 2026

Ljubljana Botanical Garden, Ižanska cesta 15, 1000 Ljubljana

As winter slowly fades and the first signs of spring appear, the Botanical Garden comes alive to the rhythm of snowdrops.

The Snowdrop Festival invites families, couples and curious visitors to experience the gentle awakening of nature, a love for plants, and playful explorations of springtime stories.

Snowdrops – symbols of hope, new beginnings and quiet beauty – connect a rich three-day programme of exhibitions, guided tours, creative workshops and children’s activities. Special attention is given to younger visitors, who are encouraged through play, exploration and creativity to observe nature and its rhythms.

The festival is an invitation to slow down, nurture curiosity and share meaningful moments between the tropical greenhouse, the botanical garden and the spring energy that brings warmth, connection and a love of nature into the city.

Three-day festival events

The festival will be enriched by a presentation of botanical illustrations of a simple little snowdrop, prepared by the students of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. Festival events will also include various lectures and workshops and a sales exhibition of Galanthus nivalis will be held from 10 to 17 o'clock every day. A free guided tour of the Botanical Garden is available on Saturday and Sunday at 12.00.
