Central Slovenia region
The town of Kamnik has a rich history and cultural heritage, and there are many cultural events and performances in the old town centre attracting visitors throughout the year.
The town of Vrhnika influenced the history of the nearby Ljubljana to a great extent. The Ljubljanica River springs in Vrhnika, and the strategically important Roman settlement Nauportus were located here.
The Ljubljana Marshes is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is a unique landscape at Ljubljana’s doorstep.
Polhov Gradec is a picturesque village in the Polhograjsko Hribovje hill area, which offers a number of interesting activities for the whole family.
Grosuplje lies at the edge of the Dolenjska region, which is characterized by natural Karst features as well as interesting cultural heritage.
