Kaj početi v Ljubljani v lepem vremenu?

By now, Slovenia is well known for its mountains, rivers and lush green landscapes. But the incredible geodiversity doesn’t end at the Earth’s surface - there is also a lot to admire underground.

If you’ve ever been to Slovenia there’s a high chance you’ve seen Mount Triglav. At 2864 m, it is the highest mountain in the country and the Julian Alps. It’s so prominent it can be seen from all directions. Not only is Triglav Slovenia’s national symbol, hiking is such a popular activity among Slovenians they consider it their national sport. And climbing Mt. Triglav is on everybody’s bucket list, as it is said you are only a true Slovenian once you’ve managed to reach its top.

I’ve always loved jogging, and during some of the marathons I’ve run in the past, I’ve seen how well it works to explore a city whilst running. Now SightJogging, or SightRunning, has become a real trend. It’s green and it’s good for you, and Ljubljana is the perfect place to do it.

Krvavec is the local mountain of the "Ljubljančani" – in fact, flying into Ljubljana, you can almost shake hands with it on the way down. Part of the Kamnik Alps, this spectacular mountain group stretches up from 1,600 to 2,000 metres. Just 20 minutes from the city centre, It’s a fabulous year-round outdoor playground.

Ever since I had found out about the wind tunnel opening in Logatec, a town 30 kilometers west of Ljubljana, I wanted to see what it is all about. I already jumped out of an airplane with a parachute and loved it, so I wanted to check this out as well and see how different from skydiving this experience is.

As much as I tout Slovenia's summers being amazing, there's still a tiny corner of my soul that itches for cooler temperatures. Shady forests, rivers, gorges, waterfalls, and Alpine villages, you say? I know a place just a short drive from Ljubljana that’s got it all!

Numerous waterfalls that plunge from twenty to five metres down, emerald green pools of fresh water, thick forests, and a great restaurant serving fresh trout.
