The Ljubljana Card entitles you to unlimited free travel on city buses, a regular guided tour of the city, 24-hour access to WiFree Ljubljana, the city's wireless internet network, a free tourist boat cruise, and a free funicular and tourist road train ride to Ljubljana Castle.
Regular Ljubljana city tour
The regular tour of Ljubljana, available daily, takes you on a walk through the historical city centre, giving you an opportunity to see its major sights.
During the card validity period, Ljubljana Card entitles you to unlimited free travel on city buses operated by the company Ljubljanski potniški promet (LPP). Upon entering a bus, simply hold your card close to the card reader for your journey to be registered.
The WiFree Ljubljana wireless network allows visitors to Ljubljana city centre to use free wireless internet for 60 minutes a day. The holders of the Ljubljana Card can enjoy 24-hour free access to the WiFree Ljubljana network.
Tourist boat ride
Taking a boat ride, you can view Ljubljana's bridges and the façades of many of the city's famous buildings from a different angle. For a period of time, you can get out of the city's hustle and bustle while actually staying in the very city centre.
As part of the Ljubljana Bike project, run by Ljubljana Tourism during the summer and early autumn months, bicycles can be hired from several city centre locations. With Ljubljana Card, you can hire a bicycle for free for a period of four hours from the Slovenian Tourist Information Centre (STIC).
Ljubljana Castle funicular
The Ljubljana Castle funicular, which can carry 33 people, takes one minute for its ride up the slope of the castle hill. The difference in height between the lower and upper platforms is a little less than 70 metres.
Exploring Ljubljana with a digital tour guide
Equipped with a digital tour guide, you can embark on a sightseeing tour of Ljubljana on your own, with the help of audio and video taped instructions and an enclosed city map. With Ljubljana Card, you can hire a digital tour guide for a period of five hours free of charge.
Internet access at the Slovenian Tourist Information Centre
The Slovenian Information Centre (STIC), located at no. 10 Krekov trg square, is Ljubljana's largest and best equipped tourist information point, where you can take advantage of an internet corner with eight work stations, among other things. Ljubljana Card entitles you to one hour of free internet.
How it works
Ljubljana Card is a combined ticket to Ljubljana's major sights enabling visitors to explore the city in a comfortable way and at the lowest cost. It is conceived as a smart card containing a RFID chip for card validation and free admission.
You can purchase your Ljubljana Card at Ljubljana's Tourist Information Centres, hotels or right here, at 10% discount.
The card validity period (24, 48 or 72 hours) begins to run from the moment when the card is activated, i.e. used for the first time.
On entering an establishment, hand over your card to the ticket salesperson to be swiped. Upon boarding a city bus, hold your card close to the card reader. Card benefits are limited to one ticket purchase from a single establishment, while on buses the use of the card is unlimited within the card validity period. No benefits can be claimed after the expiration of the card validity period.

Using the Ljubljana Card, you can save you up to €80 on expenses such as entrance fees and public transport fares. The card makes your sightseeing a lot easier: rather than making multiple payments, you simply show your card.
